“Dude, where’s my website?”
“The nail that sticks out gets hammered down.”
Our meticulously crafted and optimized website for Industrial Process Designs, woefully disappeared from Google’s SERP after appearing on the first page last Friday.
Did our webpage teeter off the edge of the world? Mayhaps a hungry HTML-saurus make a quaint little meal of it. In truth, we don’t know for sure what really happened, but our team does have a hunch.
- Our newly launched site went live on January 7th, 2008 around 3pm.
- On the morning of January 8th, 2008, our site was indexed by Google, appearing on the first page for one of our keyword searches in our campaign.
- January 9th, we left the office with a substantial number of links pointing to our website from various directories and services while maintaining our position on the first page of google.
- Monday, January 12th, the homepage isn’t listed.
Brand new domain. Brand new content. No blackhat SEO techniques implemented.
Google must think we’re cheating.
We believe because of our staunch rise in position in Google’s SERP, they automatically labeled us as spam and de-indexed us.
Now, there could be a perfectly sound explanation (a change in algorithm, a temporary glitch in the system), but we prefer to think we’re rockstars.
-bang.
*Edit*
Our website reappeared on Google’s SERP around 7 o’clock last night! Huzzah!
